Municipal Library Tax Levy Law-On March 21, 2011 the Governor enacted P.L. 2011,c.38 (S-2068). The law takes effect immediately and provides a dedicated line item on Property tax

bill to fund municipal free and joint free public libraries. It does not result in any increased taxes, but changes the way the minimum library appropriation is displayed to the public. It reduces

the municipal tax levy and rate, and creates a new line item on the tax bill for library purposes.

Below is a comparison of the Preliminary 2013 tax rate and actual 2012 tax rate for Municipal purposes only and a comparison of amounts to be

raised by taxes for 2013 and 2012.
